Block print an Autumn Scarf

Service Description

This session is suitable for beginners and those with some prior experience. We will be exploring how we can create an Autumnal block motif to print onto fabric. You will then print your design onto a lightweight scarf, for those chilly days ahead! In the intimate and inspiring Crafty Happenings workshop space, you'll be surrounded with creativity and inspiration. Spend a fun afternoon creating your very own scarf design from scratch! You will explore: - the materials and equipment required to create your very own block print - the basic principles and terminology of printmaking - develop a final motif suitable for printing onto fabric - print your scarf! - Take your printed scarf home with you - ready to wear or gift! Our designs for this workshop will be based on Autumnal plant forms, such as seed heads, leaves and pine cones. These will work best if kept best if kept relatively simple! Bring along any photos, sketches, or digital images that you would like to use for inspiration. There will also be some materials in the workshops you can use for inspiration on the day. Our workshop runs from 4pm to 8pm and is suitable for 16 + The cost of this session includes all the materials required to create one printed scarf. Tea, coffee, biscuits, and homemade cake are complimentary. Please stipulate if you have any dietary requirements when booking. Places are limited to 6 participants to ensure that all members have plenty of 1:1 tuition and guidance on the day. You will be with a very experienced Tutor - I spent 17 years teaching art and Design in FE colleges. We will be using printing inks which may stain clothing. Please wear old clothes and bring an apron! There is free on street parking near the venue on Windsor avenue, adjacent to the entrance to Windsor Park.
