People can get very suspicious and superstitious around Magpies. They have something of a reputation: they're unlucky; evil, and they'll steal your wedding ring. (They won't!)They're actually one of our most intelligent and sociable bird species, although their strutting can seem arrogant and their squawking and squabbling is less than tuneful. With their handsome plumage and bold, confident personalities, we should perhaps consider ourselves lucky to observe them at work and at play.
