In January 2023 I began a monthly creative challenge, to produce a new seasonal British wildflower as a Lino cut every month of the year. I had several motivations for this : I wanted to make more physical hands on work, rather than creating everything digitally; I wanted to celebrate wild flowers and add more florals to my portfolio; I enjoy working seasonally; and a monthly challenge felt like an achievable way to create new work consistently.
While the original prints are for sale, I have also created at least one repeat pattern from a scan of an original print. The photos below show the process from concept to completion.
All of the wildflower surface patterns are vector patterns in seamless repeat and are available to license. More patterns and coordinate will be added to this series through the year, covering all seasons which will make them ideal for calendars, planners, journals and wall charts, amongst many other products.
